Mark Steinmann It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Steinmann announces his passing after his battle with cancer on April 18, 2020, at the age of 58. He leaves behind his loving wife, Cathy and his children, David (Alicia) and Jeffrey (Deana), and his precious granddaughter, Kensley.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy, his sister Janet and brother-in-law Scott Kapalka, their sons and their spouses. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his mother-in-law, along with his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Mark will be remembered for his unequivocal love for his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He loved taking his boat out in Barnegat Bay, along with his late father, Charlie, and his two boys. He grew up in Edgewater Park, NJ and graduated from Burlington City High School, where he played baseball and football. He played on the 1979 State Championship football team. He spent every summer in Surf City on Long Beach Island, where he met his wife, Cathy. As a father, he shared his love for fishing on his boat “Surf Runner” with his sons. His favorite days were spent with his boys either on the boat or in the duck blind.
His nieces and nephews, who called him Bubba, will always remember sharing trips on the ocean in his boat, celebrating Fourth of July week, and cheering him on in numerous LBI fishing tournaments, including the LBI Cup, which he won with his sons.
