Waterbury – Mr. Mark S. Thayer, age 62 of Waterbury passed away peacefully, Monday, June 6, 2016 at VITAS unit of St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Idalia (Caraballo) Thayer.
Mark was born on September 10, 1953 in Providence, RI a son to the late Kenneth G. and Dorothea (Wiljakainen) Thayer. He retired from the City of Waterbury, Park and Recreation Dept in 2011 after 25 year.
Besides his wife Mark is survived by two daughters; Janice Cherena and Alyssa Thayer, both of Waterbury, two sisters; Nancy Spears, Bristol, N.H., Amy Hodges of Rogers Arkansas, a brother Jon Thayer of Clearwater, FLA, five grandchildren; Justin Garland, Jr., Gabriel Garland, Gizel Garland Daniel Nelson, Jr. and Dante Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Betsey Minore.
