Mark Ryan Vogt, 40, of Lincoln, Nebraska was born on September 21, 1973 in Falls City, Nebraska to John and Cheryl (Farwell) Vogt. He spent his early childhood years growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska where he attended MaudeRousseauElementary School. Mark then attended Pound Junior High and began his high school years at LincolnSoutheastHigh School. He later moved to Eureka, Kansas where he graduated from EurekaHigh School with the class of 1992.
After graduation, Mark enlisted in the United States Army on July 16, 1992 in Kansas City, Missouri. He began basic training stationed at the U.S. Army Field Artillery Training Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Mark served with the E Battery, 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery and graduated from basic training on September 24, 1992 at Sheridan Theater on the base. He was then transferred to Advance Individual Training at Fort Hood, Texas. Mark was later honorably discharged from the Army on July 15, 1995 while serving at FortShafter in Hawaii. He then returned to Lincoln, Nebraska and did electrical work for a local construction company. Mark was currently a resident of Lincoln.
Mark passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at his residence in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the age of forty years, six months, and three days. He was preceded in death by his grandfather John Farwell, grandparents Walter and Donna Jo Vogt, and step-brother Gary Wise.
Mark is survived by his mother Cheryl (George) Lapka of Omaha, NE; father John (Deb) Vogt of Eureka, KS; brothers: Scott (Lisa) Vogt of Ashland, NE; Shawn (Angela) Wise of Fountain, CO; Mike (Christina) Lapka of Omaha, NE; Noah (Melissa) Topil of Omaha, NE; Chase (Heather) Topil of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters: Cari (Troy) Elsasser of Lincoln, NE; Christine Carman of Omaha, NE; Julie (Ben) Henion of Kihei, Maui; Jody Pinto of Lincoln, NE; a grandmother Ardyth Farwell of rural Humboldt, NE; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
