Mark Edward Mewshaw, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022 in Allentown, PA.  Mark, the last of six children, was born June 8, 1952 in Stuttgart, Germany to Colonel and Mrs. (Geraldine Ray) Charles T. Mewshaw.  Mark graduated from high school in Lawton, OK, joined the U.S. Army as a Medical Corpsman soon after high school, then entered East Tennessee State University to study Environmental Science for the U.S. Army.  Mark served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy from 1972 through 1995 rising from the enlisted ranks to a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps.

 

Mark will be lovingly remembered by his only daughter Rosemary Ray Jimenez (Luis), grandchildren, Adrian Dixson, Soren and Lillian Oihus, and by his sisters, Judith Maisey, Mary Mewshaw Singleton, Deborah Stribling (Joseph), and brothers, Charles Mewshaw Jr (Geoff Lindstrom), and Michael Mewshaw (Joy Ann Comfort), and nine nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents, Charles and Geraldine Mewshaw, his brother-in-law, Barney Singleton, nephew Christopher Korbet, and his great niece, Rowan Grace.

 

Most notably, Mark remained a patriot throughout his years and loved his country.  He was also a sociable fellow who enjoyed people and conversation.  His sister says he won the Congeniality Award among his siblings.  He made many friends and often kept in touch with family, friends, ex-wives, and co-workers throughout the years via phone calls and visits.  Mark had a special relationship with his daughter and lived near her and his grandchildren for the past twenty years offering guidance and lasting memories for them.
