Mark E. Homco, 40, of Galesburg, died Thursday, November 4, 2021 at home.

Mark was born March 1, 1981 in Galesburg, the son of Michael J. and Monica (Kuric) Homco.

Mark is the loving father of two beautiful girls, Kate and Abby of Sugar Grove, IL.  Mark is also survived by his father, Mike of Galesburg; one sister, Melissa (Elia) Bybee of Davenport, IA; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Kuric of Highland, IN; as well as his niece and nephews, Newell Yates, Peyton Yates, Riliegh Bybee and Dominic Bybee.  Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Monica on September 15, 2004; his maternal grandfather, John Kuric; and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Camille Homco.

After graduating from Galesburg High School in 1999, Mark attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology in 2004.

Mark worked in property management for many years.Mark enjoyed taking care of his lawn, gardening, and watching movies.  He loved the game of baseball whether it was him playing on the field in his youth, his collegiate career at UIC, watching MLB or teaching his girls the game of softball.  He liked going to the beach in Florida and teaching his daughters how to jump the waves and spending time in the pool with them.   Mark also taught his girls how to use tools as well as cooking.
