Howard Mark Cain, 88, of Palestine and formerly of Belton passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at a Palestine Nursing Home.

Mark was born on June 2, 1932 in Charleston, West Virginia to Ward and Helen (Howard) Cain. He was raised in Moundsville, West Virginia and graduated from Moundsville High School. Mr. Cain served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958 when he was honorably discharged. While stationed at Ft. Hood, he met Emma Curb. They were married in 1958 in Holland, Texas and were married for 62 years before his passing. Mark worked for 20 years for Wilsonart and also for many years for the TDCJ before retiring and moving to Palestine to be closer to family. He attended Glad Tidings Church in Palestine.

Mr. Cain was preceded in death by a brother Robert Cain, and sisters Margaret Darmafall and Mary Esther Lotz. He is survived by his wife Emma of Palestine; sons Tommy Cain and his wife Judy of Belton, and Donny Cain of Bell County; daughters Sherry Wilhite and her husband Mike Page of Ft. Worth, and Becky Oneal and her husband Tim of Frankston, Texas. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
