He became a paramedic/fire fighter in 2001 to better serve those in the city. Mark’s pride and joy were his two daughters, Amanda and Julianna. His love for them kept him going during his very tough and courageous fight. When he wasn’t at work, Mark was an avid hunter and boater.

He is remembered for his love for the game “cribbage”. Mark was a self proclaimed “biggest fan” of his Green Bay Packers. It has been said that Mark had often been seen wearing his famous “Packers slippers” around his house on game day. Mark was known around the firehouse as one of the best.

His dedication to fighting fires and serving the public will serve as a standard for fire fighters to come.
