Mark Allen Storment, 63, of Iuka, Illinois passed away March 10, 2022 at Deaconess Hospital – Midtown, Evansville, IN. Born December 30, 1958 in Centralia, Illinois, he was the son of Larry G. and Peggy (Sapp) Storment. Mark was proud of his family heritage as farmers in Marion County and involved in trucking. Ford tractors and Western Star trucks were his preference. According to his sons, they will remember him as a loving father and grandfather. He loved to cook, always recreating the recipes of his mother and grandparents, and doing a great job of doing so.

He was a true historian, keeper of the families genealogy that was of great interest to him, and loved collecting family items, pictures and in general, anything antique. He was very artistic and loved painting. Personally, he was never without his thermos of coffee, loved pizza, especially the “Salem Special.” With widespread friends, Mark knew someone no matter where he went, and will be remembered as kind and caring to everyone he met or came in contact as he moved around the county. He was selflessly kind and generous, He had a “signature” handwriting, combined with a talent for writing. He was a faithful member of New Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Mark is deeply missed by his family and friends, and welcomed by the ones he’s been missing for so long. Surviving are his sons, Mark A. Storment-Crippen of Iuka, IL, Micah Storment-Crippen and wife Katie of Anna, IL, and daughter Michelle of Iuka, IL, along with grandchildren Stella, Kylie and Avery Crippen. Also left to survive him are his siblings Gary Storment of Iuka, IL, and Cindy Stout of Washington state; Velvet Crippen Roper, the mother of his sons of Iuka, IL; a cousin “Buddy” Sapp of Clay City, IL, and his nephew Michael Storment and wife Chrisy and their children Braden, Calen and William all of Rock Springs, WY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Malley and his grandparents.
