Marjorie L. Williams, age 94, of Irish Hills, MI, joined her Husband in heaven on May 28, 2016. “Margie” was born August 31, 1921, in Iola, Kansas and was the daughter of George & Minnie (Perkins) Lederer. Margie graduated from Davis Business School in 1940 and went on to work for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Toledo, Ohio. On September 14, 1940, she married the love of her life Gene Williams, who preceded her in death. Margie was the past Worthy Matron for the Allen Park, MI Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband Gene traveled extensively around the world, as well as across the United States in their Airstream RV with their beloved dogs. Gene and Margie were married for 68 years prior to his passing. Following his death, Margie continued on going relationships with the many friends they made as a couple throughout their life together and made many new ones as she spent her winters in Palmetto Florida and summers in the Irish Hills. An avid card player with multiple hobbies her greatest gift was how she cared for people. Both in voice and in presence Margie was always willing to listen and help not only those she loved and loved her in return but her many friends. Those conversations and that sincere caring will be greatly missed. She was adored by her family and all who knew her. Margie is survived by her two sons; Tom (wife, Pat) Williams of Grosse Ile, MI and Jerry (wife, Rae) Williams of Pinebluff, NC and five grandchildren; Jill ( husband Jeff ) Ferguson, Wendy ( husband Gary) Nelson, Steve Williams, Michael ( wife Polly) Williams and Jennilyn Williams plus twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Gene, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
