Marjorie Myers, 80, of Brooklyn Park, died October 20th after a long illness. Born in Bedford, PA to the late Forest and Olive Tyler, Marjorie moved to Brooklyn in the 1940s with her family.
Marjorie was a consecrated, rostered Deaconess of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Order of St. Stephen. She served Messiah Lutheran Church in Baltimore. She was a teacher and a religious educator at St. John Christian Day School from its beginning to its closure, a tenure of more than 50 years. She was predeceased by her husband John Edmund Myers, Jr. She is survived by two sons, John E. Myers, III and Timothy Myers; and one daughter, Christine Ambrose; siblings Dorothy Bailey, Virginia Hof, John Tyler, and Nancy Pieters; and grandchildren Anna and Lisa Myers and Tyler and Dylan Ambrose. Marjorie earned a Master of Theology degree from St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. She was a long-time member of the choir of St. John as well as a Sunday School instructor.
