Marjorie S. “Marge” Primeau, age 94, of Rensselaer passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Jasper County Hospital.

Marge was born October 21, 1919, in Seafield, Ind., the daughter of Marie (Viellieber) and Charles Schott. She resided in Niagara Falls, New York and Ohio before moving to Rensselaer in 1961. Marge attended Round Grove Schools, Brookston, Ind., and graduated from Ft. Wayne International Business College. She was a secretary for five years with the Federal Government, where she worked for Franklin D. Roosevelt.

On September 24, 1942, in Niagara Falls, New York Marge married Leon E. Primeau. Leon passed away on March 4, 1960. Marge was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Rensselaer and the Christian Women’s Group. She also was a member of the Jasper County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Literary Club. Marge was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are five children, Steven (Debbi) Primeau, DeMotte, Ind., Charles (Rebecca) Primeau, Avon Park, Florida, Renee (Alfred) Morandi, Russiaville, Ind., Victor (Debra) Primeau, DeMotte, Ind., and Jill (Gregory) Wilson, Wheatfield, Ind., fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
