Marjorie S. Hulick, 60, of Galesburg died December 19th, 2015. She was at home, surrounded by her immediate family. Margie was born the youngest daughter of Roy and Ellen Roark. She married John Hulick (Rick) in Texas on January 12, 1974. They have two children, Shane Hulick and Danielle Tansel.
Margie retired as Director of Knox County Housing Authority in 2012. She belonged to the Illinois Association of Housing Authorities, as well as Northern Illinois Council Housing Authorities. Prior to working at the Housing Authority, she was the Director of the Knox County Humane Society and was hired to help transition the Shelter and Humane Society into one organization. Margie was also a Biologist at Wildlife Prairie Park, concurrent with obtaining her BA in Biology from Knox College. She had a life-long passion for animals and has always been active with her dogs. She was committed to giving-back to the community and helped to raise funds for the public library, assisted with Big Brothers Big Sisters and belonged to the Leadership Greater Galesburg Training Centre.
Margie leaves her beloved husband Rick; her son Shane, his wife Jan and their three daughters, Colby, Cadence and Broghan. She also leaves her daughter, Danielle and her husband Bryon, along with her three sisters Diana, Cathy and husband John, MaryAnn and husband Tom, brother-in-law Donnie and wife Claudia, along with many nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ellen Roark and her in-laws, Don and Ione Hulick.
