Marjorie P. Nelson, 94, died May 30, 2013 in Canon City, CO. Daughter of John and Laura (Jordan) Penaluna, Marjorie was born February 1, 1919 in Central City, CO. In September 1965, Marjorie married Herman W. Nelson in Golden, CO, who died in December 1995. Marjorie owned and operated a restaurant in Golden for many years. Marjorie was a member of the Rebekah’s (IOOF), the ‘8 and 40′ (VFW), and the Eastern Star. Ms. Nelson is survived by her children, John W. Agate of Fredericksburg, VA, Marcelle Agate Habibion of Brooklyn, NY, Margaret J. Mortenson of Lakewood, CO, and Marjorie Laragene “Jeanie” Holzwarth of Pueblo, CO; step-daughter, Mary Durggras of Troy, MT; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and five nieces.
