MARJORIE MILDRED MAHER wonderful, kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to those she leaves behind. Born October 11, 1925 to Mildred and Bruce Hubbard, in the still-standing farmhouse of her grandparents Daniel and Adalena Hubbard. Marge grew up in Englewood, Colorado (now a suburb of Denver) with her two brothers Dick and Mike. She fondly remembered that you could see fireflies and vast open spaces around the Englewood of her youth. After high school graduation Marge learned that her mother had enrolled her in teletype school in Omaha, Nebraska where Marge, wide-eyed and willingly, set off to learn this new skill that would be in demand during World War II. Marge worked as a teletype operator for the war effort in Dayton, Ohio and Mobile, Alabama. While in Mobile she met her husband-to-be Dick Maher who was also a Colorado native. Though they would not date in earnest until they both returned to Denver.

Once the war had ended Marge returned to Denver and worked as a model. She was the only woman in the 1946 Armistice Day Parade. Her modeling career was taking off and she was being urged to run for Miss Colorado. Her beau Dick told her that he would not wait, he wanted to get married and start a family. It worked, Dick and Marge married June 7, 1947 and had 4 children: Peggy, Paula, Patty and Phil. Marge was full of life and fun. A stay-at-home mom who always made birthdays, holidays, and Easter Egg hunts something to remember. Marge loved children and delighted in any that she saw. From her grand children and great grandchildren to little babies and children she met in restaurants, and stores, all were showered with love and affection by Marge.

She is survived by her children: Peggy Mercier (husband John), Paula Baldwin, Patty Maher, Phil Maher (wife Julie); her grandchildren: Kurt Sala (wife Heather), Kandi Simmons (husband Jason), Rachel Maher, Jon Maher (wife Laura), Aimee Fritz (husband Matt); her great grandchildren: Allie Spell, Grant Sala (who proceeded Grandma in death), Dylan Schlehuber (wife Katie), Ashlan Thompson (husband Caden), Brianna and Jacob Simmons, Ty, Ellie and Mac Maher, Ginny and Daisy Fritz: her great great grandchild: Korbin Spell; and her half sister Louise Ziemann, and half brother Larry Hubbard. Plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends!

Marge died from complications from a fall. She was 95 years young.
