Marjorie (“Midge”) C. Lamb, 98, of Franklin, CT died on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham, CT. She was the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy Lord of Lebanon, CT. After graduating from Lyman Memorial High School in 1938, Midge worked in the Hartford County and then New London County offices of the Connecticut Cooperative Extension System. 4-H was a lifelong commitment: Midge was a youth member and then club leader for many years in New London County. She had a long career as a school secretary in Montville, CT. Midge was very engaged in professional and town activities, notably the National Association of School Secretaries and the Historical Society in Franklin where she lived for more than 30 years.
Midge is survived by many nieces and nephews, including the wonderful group added when she married J. Emmett Lamb in 1980. She was predeceased by her first husband, Floyd Edwin Lowe, in 1959, her second husband, J. Emmett Lamb, in 1988, and her sisters Anne Lamb, Olive Lord, and Janet Osterberg. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Midge’s caregivers at St. Joseph Living Center for their compassionate care and for indulging Midge’s love of bingo, hymns, and conversation. A lifelong Methodist, Midge appreciated the Roman Catholic faith of her husband Emmett.
