Marjorie Marge Eilts, 92, of Ottawa, died Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010, at Heritage Woods in Ottawa. Marge was born November 3, 1917, in Streator to Robert and Florence (Smith) Johnston.
She was a 1934 graduate of Streator High School. She married George D. Eilts on November 28, 1937, at Park Presbyterian Church in Streator. He died on May 27, 1992. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa and a long-time volunteer and Physical Therapist Aide at Easter Seals of LaSalle and Bureau Counties in Ottawa.
She is survived by one son, Dan (Sheila) Eilts of Ottawa; one daughter, Margo (Senator Tom) Carlson of Holdrege, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Chad (Amanda), Erin and Nathan Carlson, Drew (Jamie) and Elyse Eilts; 4 great-grandchildren, Ian, Ava, Eli and Sydney; one sister, Betty (Robert) Opremchak of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one daughter in infancy, Phyllis; one brother, Robert Johnston.
