Marjorie Lynn Marsh—our beloved “Grannie”—died on January 19, 2022, in Lakeland. She was born September 13, 1932, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of Gwendolyn Herron.
Margie married Richard Marsh, the love of her life, in 1953 and they promptly began their beautiful family. 1961 brought a move to Florida and set down roots. Margie went on to serve as the Cafeteria Manager at Crystal Lake Elem, Scott Lake Elem., and then Valley View Elem. She was adored by faculty, staff and students and always made sure her “sweet babies” had a nutritious lunch, served with great love.
She was born to be a mother and a grandmother, and she was simply the best! Her world revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was happiest when she was cheering them on from the audience of many musical performances, on the sidelines of sporting events and feeding her family her famous Christmas Morning Waffles!
Margie is predeceased by her mother Gwendolyn Herron, loving husband Richard C. Marsh, brother David Dailey, sister Clara Chapman, precious great grandchildren Jaxon Marsh and Kennedy Marsh, and daughter Debra Griffin. She is survived by her children Jody Marsh (Katie), Richard G. Marsh (Tina); Grandchildren: Brandi Hunter (Ian), Ryan Marsh, Matthew Marsh (Jade), Brooke Farr (Jason), Stephanie Beatty (Clay), and Grant Marsh; Great grandchildren: Jenna Daniel, Jessica Daniel, Millie Marsh, Austin Beatty, and Paul Farr.
