Marjorie L. DePlante, 96, of Newington, died peacefully on July 9th, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. She was the widow of Edward M. DePlante. Born in Schenectady, New York, she graduated from Harford Public School and was a Hartford and Newington resident for many years. She worked for Travelers in Hartford for many years. She spent many years in the Newington Grange and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Guild Post #96 in West Hartford. She was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Newington where she was a member of the choir. Her survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Michael DePlante Sr. and Tania DePlante of Glastonbury; daughter Diane Chandler of Providence, RI; Four grandchildren, Billie Chandler, Steven Chandler, Michelle DePlante and Michael DePlante, Jr. and three great-grandchildren Cameron, Jerry, and Jamie. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward M. DePlante and her brother Robert T. Williams of Wethersfield.
