Marjorie Kilgore Nickens Fretwell of Parma, Idaho, went home to heaven on February 18, 2010. She died of natural causes.
Marjorie was born September 15, 1913 in St. Paul, Arkansas to John and Ella Nickens. She was the youngest of 12 children. Her brother Paul Nickens and sister Zoe Nickens Jones, with the assistance of sister Gerri Nickens Andrews, founded Revival Center in Parma, where Marjorie was a long time member.
Marjorie married Samuel Fretwell July 4, 1933. She is survived by children Barbara Fretwell Ragains (Larry); Gayle Fretwell Eld (Tom, deceased) and Roger Fretwell (Sarah). Grandchildren include Susan Ragains Ness (Gene); Joy Eld Johnson (Stan); Salli Ragains Christensen (Don, deceased); Kristi Eld Christensen (Jim); Barbi Eld Wixom (Don); Wendi Fretwell Kienzle (Ian), Russell Asbill, Samuel Fretwell, David Neal (Katie), eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.
Marjorie’s beloved Sam passed away in 1971, and in 1974 Marjorie married Wilbur Ragains, who passed away in 1997.
Marjorie was a graduate of Parma High School. Together she and Sam settled on 80 acres in the Black Canyon Project east of Parma. There, with the help of their two daughters and a team of horses, they cleared sagebrush and made the acreage into the productive farm it remains today.
Her family was always her priority, and friends were always part of the family.
