Marjorie Jean Mather was born on July 3,1922 in Seattle Washington to Edward Lennon Martin and Grace Jeanne Mace. Throughout her life she resided in many NW cities: Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Spokane WA and Beaverton OR; before settling permanently in Boise, ID. She worked in retail sales and was successful enough to be promoted to buyer for her company.
She loved so many things. She was a girl that loved dancing and chocolate. She loved bowling and especially loved golf. She earned a trophy for getting a hole in 1. She was a member of Golf Associations at Plantation (until it went private), and Warm Springs Golf course.
Her favorite family traditions included taking her children tubing on the Boise River in the summer, sometimes going down to Lucky Peak Dam or Roby Creek for swimming with a picnic. On Thanksgiving, Marjorie prepared roast turkey of course with stuffing that had lots of sage, and a sweet cranberry relish.
In her golden years she kept golfing until back problems got too bad. She traveled to the Oregon coast as much as she could, along with an occasional get away with friends to Nevada for a show and a little gambling.
Marjorie J. Mather was preceded in death by the following: Edward “Ted” L. Martin (Father), Grace “Jeannne” (Mace) Martin Young (Mother), Ernest E.
