Marjorie J. Bowes, 88, of Ottawa, passed away Monday afternoon, January 10, 2011 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home. Marjorie was born on October 28, 1922 in Ottawa to Robert E. and Alma T. (Nelson) Bowes.
She graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and retired as a school teacher working 37 years at Ottawa Hills School and Lincoln School. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, AARP, and Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by one sister, Lois E. Bowes of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Darrell Lamphierd, Steve Taylor, John Fariss, Archie Boe, Vern Johnson, Scott Boe. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Bowes, Roger Bowes, Craig Bowes, Bob Bowes, Gary Bowes, Nancy Wheeler, Judy Hollingshead, Debi Humphreys, Lyn Burton.
