Marjorie Helen Hammond, 83, of Centralia died Monday, March 5, 2012 at Odin Care Center In Odin, IL.

She was born January 2, 1929 in Bellair, daughter of Owen Finney and Ola (Smith) Finney. She married Ralph M. Hammond on May 6, 1947 at the parsonage of Antioch Church near Lake Centralia and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2008.

She is survived by two sons, William Hammond and wife Debra and Douglas Hammond all of Centralia; two grandchildren: Kerry Hammond and Luke Hammond; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Larry Finney and wife Karen of Greenwood, SC and Bill Finney and wife Elizabeth of Sycamore, IL; sister –in-law, Kathy (Finney) Sweeny; a beloved aunt, Helen Dill of Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Dale, Dean, Denny and Donnie and a sister, Ynema.

Mrs. Hammond was a life-long resident of Centralia living the last 32 years on Lake Centralia. She was a homemaker in addition to working at Brown Shoe Company in Salem and then Littelfuse in Centralia until her retirement. She was a member of the Calumet Christian Church in Centralia. Having grown up with six brothers, she was a talented athlete and enjoyed dancing, waterskiing and softball. She spent her retirement shopping, traveling and spending time with her family.
