Marjorie Eleanor Montgomery Nelson passed away peacefully and entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 5, at the age of 98. Marjorie was born in Muscatine, Iowa on May 27, 1923 to Ralph and Lillian Montgomery. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Elmer William Nelson, their son, William Montgomery Nelson, and her beloved black poodle, Jack. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Mindy) Nelson Sobraske (Keith), grandchildren Nicholas Sobraske (Betsy), Sasha Eden (Tony), Mellissa Worrell (Craig), and six great grandchildren. Marjorie grew up in Stratford, Iowa where she attended school and met the love of her life, Elmer William Nelson. Marge and Bill were married on October 13, 1944 in Florida. They lived in Minnesota, Nebraska and Colorado before moving to Arizona in 1969. Marjorie was a devoted mother and homemaker, and treasured time with her family above all else. She enjoyed sewing, genealogy, card-making, and the arts. She loved animals and raised Arabian and Thoroughbred horses with her husband and family at their ranches in Scottsdale and Prescott, Arizona. GGG (“Triple G”), as she was known to her great grandchildren, loved watching them dance, play hockey and soccer, string beads, and create beautiful works of art. Marjorie always told her family, “I love you to the moon and back.” Mindy and Keith were blessed to have Marjorie as a roommate for the last 10 years of her life. We will love you forever, Mom/Grandma/GGG.
