Marjorie Ellen (Barton) Taylor, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barton, was born February 2, 1924 in Newton, Iowa. She grew up in Newton and attended Newton Public Schools.
Following high school, Marjorie married Howard J. Taylor, and together they made their home in Ira. Marjorie worked for Farm Bureau Insurance, as well as being a clerk in several area grocery stores. She enjoyed participating in a bowling league and playing bingo. Marjorie was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend.
Marjorie, at the age of 84, died on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; daughter, Marilyn Foreman; and six siblings.
Those left to honor Shirley’s memory are her grandchildren: James (Monica) Hauserman of Marshalltown, IA, Howard J. Beem of El Paso, TX, and Mary L. (James) Beem of Woodlawn, TN; six great-grandchildren: John, Jason, Aubrey, Joey, Arieanna, and Kevin; and many friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
