Marjorie Ellen Hickman, 91 died peacefully in her sleep on November 2, 2013. Born July 28, 1922 in Akron OH, she was the older of two girls born to Bill and Jesse Anderson. She grew up and was educated in the Akron and Strasburg, Ohio areas. While visiting friends and relatives in Salem, West Virginia, she met Monroe “Hick” Hickman Jr. on a blind date. This began a courtship that in Marjorie’s words: i½i¿½He almost blew because he was very late picking me up.” This date resulted in their marriage of 63 years. Marjorie was a loving mother to Bob and a homemaker who did not work outside the home until he was about to begin his college education.
