Long time Middleton resident, Marjorie Lindauer Campbell, died peacefully at home on September 30, 2011, at the age of 90, following a long, often painful, battle with breast cancer.

Marj was born in Nebraska on May 3, 1921 to George and Matilda Lindauer. She, her parents, four brothers and sisters traveled west in a Model-T to Middleton, Idaho in 1935. There she graduated from Middleton High School as a member of the class of 1941. She married Levi Campbell, also of Middleton, on January 22, 1943.

Marj was an athletic, independent, outdoors woman. She liked to hunt jack rabbits, play baseball and coach girls’ basketball. The family farm animals brought her much joy, especially Jellybean, her burrow. Neighbors would frequently see Marj riding her bicycle or being pulled by a Shetland pony on her trotting cart. She could also be seen navigating the farm on the tractor or four-wheeler. She loved leading groups of kindergartners around the farm or just sitting on the tailgate of the pickup enjoying the weather and good conversations.

Marj is survived by her children, Ed Campbell of Emmett, Tom (Dana) Campbell of Corvallis, OR, and Betty (Gary) Wangsgard of Middleton; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Campbell; brother, Fran Lindauer; grandsons, Scott and Doug Campbell; three great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Matilda Lindauer; her brothers, Leonard, Mike and Stan; her sister, Vi Domingo; her son, Joe Campbell; and her burrow, Jellybean.

The Campbell family would like to thank Four Rivers Hospice for all their time and help. They especially want to thank Randy and Julie for their care and compassion.
