Marjorie (Bertz) Dickman, 86, of Plainville, passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Brokenhearted for nearly six years, she is now reunited with her beloved husband Herbert and her son, Mark, whom she missed dearly.
Marjorie was born in New Britain on September 9, 1925, one of five children to the late Otto and Minnie (Miller) Bertz. A graduate of New Britain High School, she worked for a brief time at American Hardware, before her marriage to the love of her life, Herbert in June of 1956. Together they relocated to Plainville where they raised their two sons and shared nearly 50 years together. A devoted wife and mother, Marjorie centered her life around her family, never missing or acknowledging an important event. She was always entertaining guests and sharing her delicious cooking with others.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Melissa Dickman of Ellington; her daughter-in-law, Marianne Enes of Middletown; her brother and sister-in-law, Leslie and Shirley Bertz of Syracuse, NY; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold and Ray Bertz and her sister, Dorthea Leupold.
