Marjorie Ann Schofield was born on October 6, 1925, at Rockwell City, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Ramthun) Schofield. She graduated from Jolley High School in 1943. She was united in marriage with Carl Harris Hoefing on June 2, 1946, in Knoke, Iowa, and together they farmed the Hoefing family farm, with Carl having planted 67 consecutive crop years. Marge enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and having company in her home. She enjoyed the years of farming with Carl, as well as keeping up on Minnesota Twins baseball and college football and basketball.
Marge is survived by her two sons Steven (Linda) Hoefing of Shenandoah, IA; and Merle (Sally) Hoefing of Pocahontas, IA; grandchildren Jonathan (Jordan) Hoefing, Cameron (Alicia) Hoefing, Jennifer Hoefing, and Natalie (Joe) Blum; great grandchildren Brody, Conway, and Hallie Hoefing, and Kelli Blum; as well as her sister-in-law Janis Schofield of Odebolt, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl on April 24, 2013; siblings Marie, Louis, Lavon, Donald, and Duane.
