Mrs. Marjorie A. Ruiz, age 46, beloved wife of 7 years to Rick Ruiz of West Haven, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 in Yale-New haven Hospital after a brief illness.

 

Daughter of Edward and Nancy Arruda Heinold of West Hopkinton, Rhode Island, she was born on July 13, 1963 in Milford. Graduate of Foran High School in Milford, class of 1981, she graduated from West Chester College in Pennsylvania and received her Master’s Degree from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Marjorie was a Health Teacher at the Harborside Middle School in Milford for the past 13 years and previously a Physical Education Teacher at the Boys Village in Milford for 12 years. She was Milford’s Teacher of the Year in 2006. She was also a Eucharist Minister for the past 5 years and C.C.D. teacher at St. John Vianney in West Haven. She enjoyed sports, especially golf, volleyball, and softball, loved teaching and being with her family. She will be greatly missed.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she leaves a cherished son, Matthew Ruiz of West Haven, a brother, John Heinold of Rhode Island, and a sister, Debbie Kostinden and her husband Jim of Massachusetts. She is also survived by a father-in-law, John Howard of West Haven, two uncles, John and Raymond Arruda, both of Rhode Island, and a goddaughter, Kimberly Recchia of Waterbury. She was predeceased by a son, Kyle Kelley. Paternal grandparent Henry and Helen Heinold and maternal grandparents John and Irene Moniz Arruda. Two Uncles Richard and Gary Arruda
