Marjesta Von Hartsfield-Moore was born in Pensacola, Florida on October 7, 1940 to Tom Hartsfield and Mary Elizabeth White-Hartsfield. Marjesta was the youngest of seven children.
Marjesta was educated in Pensacola, Florida and attended Booker T. Washington Junior College and a Government sponsored MDTA training program, gaining her certificate of completion for secretarial and office management. Marjesta moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1960’s and worked for several companies in the Indianapolis area until she accepted employment with the Metro City Bus Company where she was employed for twenty years, retiring in 1995.
Marjesta leaves behind three children; Kevin James, Yolonda James, and Reginald (Diane) James, nine grandchildren; Cha’Ron Day, Simone James, Derrick House, Trey James, Tevin James, Torren James, Kayla Beckwith, Kayvonna Beckwith, and David Beckwith, and nine great-grandchildren; Ka’Leah James, Ka’Moni James, Jeremiah James, Jaden James, Kendal James, Zakary Boswell, Zayvon Boswell, Kimorah Boswell, and Noah Beckwith.
Marjesta symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism 45 years ago on October 26, 1976. Marjesta met and married Edward L. Moore, her husband of 8 years who preceded her in death. Marjesta was a faithful witness for Jehovah, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend to all who knew her.
Marjesta is asleep, awaiting the resurrection, and living on earth forever in paradise.
