Ms. Marissa “Missy” A. Clinton, age 49, of Opelika, Alabama passed away on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She was born on January 18th, 1972, on Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas.
Marissa is survived by her daughter, Jami Wyatt (Blake); son, Hunter Cole; grandchildren, Amaya Wyatt, Carson Wyatt, Brantley Wyatt, Braylon Cole, Eli Cole, and Emmelynn Cole; mother, Hilda Clinton; father, Tom Clinton; sister, Delia Jones (John); brother, Bryan Clinton; nieces, Tabitha Turner, Brittany Gallegos, Heather Wall, and Kassidy Clinton; nephew, Bryce Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth and Clifton Clinton.
Marissa may have gained her wings, but she was no angel. Born into a family of strong women full of sass, she walked to the beat of her own drum, and you could join the band or be quiet and watch the show. She loved to laugh, eat snacks, read romance novels, and watch trash TV. She had a heart a mile wide, and a mouth that could put you in your place in a second. To say that she will be missed, is an understatement. Her story will live on, in the big attitudes and bigger hearts of her daughter, granddaughter, and nieces. Her strength, determination and mile wide stubborn streak will shine bright in her son, grandson, and nephews. And her love will remain in the hearts of all she left behind. She’s out there somewhere now in the wind running wild and free. We’ll listen for the drums.
