Marion Thomas Frie, 71 passed away June 29, 2022 after an extended illness surrounded by family in Las Cruces, NM.
Marion was born April 22, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Roy Frie and Thelma Stamp Frie. He graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1970. During his time in school, Marion worked for Sherwood Culberson at the Culberson Ranch in Lordsburg , New Mexico.
After graduating, Marion moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico and began working at Moutry’s Feed Lot at Seven Rivers. Eventually, he moved to Yuma, AZ and worked for McElhaney Feed Lot for the next 16 years. While in Yuma, he had roping steers and put on ropings.
After leaving Yuma, he moved to Yuma, Colorado and helped run the Conagra Feed Lot.
He worked on many ranches in his working career, just too many to name.
Marion is preceded in death by his father, Roy Frie, Mother, Thelma Frie, Brother, Alan Frie, Sister, Geneva Frie Stacy and his son, Kyle Stanton Frie.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Pamela Frie, of 23 years, after they found each other again after 32 years. His son, Shane Frie (Kim) of Yuma, AZ, Pamela’s daughters: Tasha Springfield (Bob), Billie Estrada (James) & Chasity Montes (Charles), His mother-in-law, Evelyn Taylor, all of Deming, NM and a brother, Johnnie Frie (Cindy) of Virden, New Mexico and Anna Ruth Frie Tribble (Ray) of Sealy, Tx. 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as host of nieces, nephews and family friends.
Marion was a dedicated and loyal husband, partent, friend and a mentor to many teaching the Cowboy Way. Marion will be greatly missed.
