MARION M. SMITH, age 77, of Andover, CT, transitioned peacefully at UCONN Health Center in the compassionate care of the nurses, physicians and the hospice team from Masonicare on December 13, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. Marion is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles R. Smith, her only child, Diane C. Massey and son-in-law Gregory J. Massey, of Tolland MA, and her grandchildren, Brooke A. Massey, and Clayton R. Massey, all of whom she was very proud. Also surviving Marion is her aunt, Rose Dudek, (93), of N. Huntingdon, PA, many cousins, and dear friends, Robert & Linda Barker. Marion was born June 4, 1939 in Plains, PA. Her beloved mother, Anastasia Maciejko, predeceased her. She spent her life devoted to her home, husband, daughter and grandchildren. Marion gave of her time and talent for 34 years as a Teacher’s Aide and Secretary at Bolton High School where she made many life-long friends. Marion’s passion was knitting and needlepoint. Her baby sweater sets, hats, gloves and mittens, are a favorite and worn by many.
