Marion L. (LaBelle) Kohut, 87, of Peabody, passed away on September 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. Marion was the beloved wife of the late John R. Kohut for 67 years. Marion was a pillar of strength, a charismatic and loving woman. Marion, the daughter of the late John and Nettie (Kimball) LaBelle, was born on September 27, 1930. Marion was a lifelong resident of Peabody who was raised on Forest Street. Marion attended the old Center School and later graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1949 . As a young girl Marion worked at Brady’s Pharmacy and on “the farm” where at the age of 11 she first met John. On August 19,1950 Marion and John were married and began an incredible journey that would include raising five children at their home on School Street, a home that was filled with endless laughter and limitless love. After raising her children Marion was a longtime employee of the Peabody Public Schools. Quick witted, sassy, devoted and incredibly funny, Marion will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. Marion was the loving mother to Charlotte Parish and her husband Brad of Exeter, Dana Kohut and his wife Donna of Peabody, Raymond Kohut and his wife Robin of Newburyport, John E. Kohut and his wife Julie of Peabody, and Leo Kohut and his wife Stacey of Bradford. Marion was the proud grandmother to Kellie Weldon, Dawn Daly, Jessica Rosenstein, Erin and Amanda Kohut, Janna Millard and her husband Daniel, Lindsey Theberge and her husband Brian, Johnathan and Jaymie Kohut. Marion found great joy in her 11 great- grandchildren and two great- great- grandchildren. One of ten children, Marion leaves behind her siblings Leo LaBelle and his wife Elaine, Rita Tuttle and her husband Harold, Dottie Ruest and her husband John, Ada Bonsaint and a sister-in-law Erna LaBelle. Marion was predeceased by her brothers Jean and his wife Alice LaBelle, Paul LaBelle, Jim and his wife Kathy LaBelle, and her sisters Joan and her husband Jim Perakis, June LaBelle and her brother in law Bob Bonsaint.
