Marion Julia (Kammerer) Warner, 92, of Centralia, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home. She was born September 28, 1926 in Chicago, daughter of Ernest Kammerer and Marion (Gifford) Kammerer. After the death of her father in 1929, her mother married Charles McCue in 1934 and he passed away in 1957.
He was a very special step-father to Marion and her brothers. Marion married Walter Elwood Warner on June 22, 1946 in Chicago and they were married for 63 years when Elwood passed away in 2009. Marion is survived by her very devoted and loving daughter: Kathy Bishop of Centralia; three granddaughters: Alishia and husband James of Salem, Marcie and husband Ken of Belleville, and Stacie and husband Gabriel of Miami, Florida; three great grandchildren: Gavin and Dominick of Salem and Jordan of Belleville; many much loved nieces and nephews. Special family: Danny and Judy Owen, Mary Warner and Ann Hiltibidal.
In addition to her husband’s and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son John, and four brothers: William and wife Esther, Edward and wife Lazette, John and wife Theresa “Ann”, and James and wife Joan. Marion worked at Montgomery Ward as the head Cashier and payroll account manager. She left Montgomery Ward after 10 years. In 1960 Marion started working at Kas Potato Chip. She was the account supervisor, when the plant closed. She had been with the company for 28 years. Marion enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting and making flower arrangements. She enjoyed sitting on the patio with Elwood and her faithful dog, Beau. Marion spent a lot of time feeding and watching the birds.
