Marion Dolores Healey, 93, of Milford, beloved wife of William A. Healey (Retired Fire Chief), passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Born on April 27, 1929 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Price and Mary Agnes (Fennell) Thomas.
Marion attended Blessed Sacrament Academy and Alvernia Business School, both in Yonkers. She was the clerk and bookkeeper for the Milford Probate Court for 19 years. She served as the secretary of the Board of Aldermen and many various boards and commissions of the City of Milford for many years and was a former member of the Milford Senior Center. Marion was a member of the council of Catholic Women, and a member of Christ the Redeemer Ladies Guild where she held numerous positions, including president. She was a former Eucharistic Minister, and received the Archdiocesan Saint Joseph Medal from the Diocese of Hartford. She also served as reader at the Good Shepard Day Care as a member of the Literacy Center of Milford. When attending International Fire Chiefs conventions with her husband, she was affectionately referred to as, “Mrs. Fire Chief.”
Marion is survived by her husband of 71 years, William A. Healey; sons, William D. (Rosanne) Healey, Robert J. (Joyce) Healey; five grandchildren, William P. (Renee), Robert A., Sean M., Timothy J., and Erin K. Healey; great grandson, William R. Healey; and sister-in-law, Katherine Drabak of El Dorado, AR. Marion was predeceased by her siblings, James (Mary) McGuire, Daniel P. (Katherine) Thomas, Jr., Rita (Thomas) Kennelly, Mary (John) Dwyer, and Margaret Thomas.
