Marion Hayes Hull was born on February 23, 1940 in Bronx, New York. She was the first child born of four to the late David Vernon and Jessie C. (Summerville) Hayes. She had a close and loving relationship with her siblings – brothers Henry C. Hayes (Oleathia), Warrenton, North Carolina and David (Butch) 0. Hayes, The Bronx, New York and sister Millie Hayes Nelson (deceased).
On September 11, 2017, after an extended illness, Marion transitioned to Eternal Rest.
Education
Marion attended Long Island University, 1961. She earned a Master of Arts in Television Writing, from New York University in 1967 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from The American University in 1996. Her education prepared her for the long rewarding career in communications.
Career
Marion was a communications educator and researcher. Her many career positions included: Instructor at Norfolk State University, 1967 – 1970; Assistant Professor at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, 1970-1972; Communication Specialist United States Justice Department, Washington, D.C 1972-1973; Director of Telecommunications Programs at Booker T. Washington Foundation, 1973- 1982; United States Delegate The World Administration; Radio Conference, (Planning Committee) Washington, D.C.
