Gene was born in Muncie on January 27, 1931, the son of Elmer C. and Wilma Irene (Thornburg) Scott, and was a 1949 graduate of Selma High School. He attended Purdue University to pursue farming classes.
Mr. Scott proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U. S. S. Rochester during the Korean Conflict. He worked for several years with Farm Bureau, ten years with Riggin’s Dairy, and was employed as an electrician with Ontario Corporation and Abrams Electric; before working with Borg-Warner for 20 years as an electrician until his retirement in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Scott, three daughters, Debra Perrault, Indianapolis, Deanna Parris, (husband-Sherry), Muncie, and Dana Miller, (husband-Duane), Parker City; two sons, Ramon Scott, (wife-Debbie), DeSoto, and, Ronald Scott, (wife-Jackie), Farmland; two brothers, Charles “Bud” Scott, Muncie, and Donald Scott, (wife-Sandy), Sellersburg; a sister, Carolyn Lasater, (husband-Gene), Gaston; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Scott.
