Marion F. Honn, age 81, of Brook, Indiana passed away December 19, 2010 at the VA Illiana Healthcare, Danville, Illinois.
He was born February 22, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to Harry Ernest and Opal Fay (Lacy) Honn. After moving here with his family he attended school in Mt. Ayr and Brook, Indiana. Marion was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Marion retired from Sears & Roebuck in Rensselaer where he was a mechanic for 26 years. He also had worked in maintenance at Rose Acres in Newton County. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Brook, a life member of V.F.W. Post #1279, the Morocco American Legion Post #146, the Iroquois Conservation Club, and was a 24 year veteran of the Brook Volunteer Fire Department. Marion was an avid race car fan and was a member and past president of the Rensselaer Racing Association. On September 11, 1954, in Kentland, Indiana Marion married Betty Jean Richards and she survives.
Surviving along with his loving wife Betty are four daughters, Vicki (Chuck) Laffoon, Morocco, IN, Rhonda (James) Gross, Brook, IN, Hedy (Stan) Larson, Rensselaer, IN and Mary Kristin (Jeffrey Floyd, companion) Honn, Brook, Indiana; four grandsons, one great-grandson, two brothers, Lloyd Honn, Lafayette, IN and Harold (Maxine) Honn, Brook, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Honn, his parents, one brother and one sister.
