DUDA

Marion Mary Cuccia Duda, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015 with her beloved son, Albert Duda, Jr. and Elizabeth Triche by her side.  Beloved wife of the late Albert Duda, Sr., she was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maggie Cuccia; her sister, Lily Cuccia Giangrosso; her daughter, Ann Duda Talerico; and grandson Joey Talerico.  She is survived by her two sons, Al, Jr. (Elizabeth Triche) and Carl Duda; brother-in-law Carlo Giangrosso; grandchildren Paul Gulotta, Christina Gulotta, Michael Talerico, John Triche, Mickey Triche, Jason Triche, William Triche and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   She was born in New Orleans’ 7th Ward and was a 55-year resident of Lakeview before relocating to Kenner after Hurricane Katrina.  She also taught in the New Orleans Public School System for 33 years as a 2nd grade teacher at Lower Elementary Bradley and Lower Elementary Adolf Meyer.   A 1941 Tulane graduate (Bachelor of Arts), she married Al, Sr. on 10/23/1943 that began her 67-year love affair.  She was very strong in her Catholic faith and the epitome of all things proper, courteous and respectful.  Her recall, wit and conversationalist style were with her until the very end, a trait that served her well as an educator and wife of a well-rounded businessman.
