Mario Kinte Singleton, beloved son of the late Mamie Singleton and Arnold Gregory Harris, was born on July 2, 1981 in High Point, NC. He departed from the Earthly realm on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Thomasville, NC.
Although his legal first name is Mario, amongst family and friends he was lovingly called Kinte. He attended Thomasville High School and as a child, he regularly attended High Point Deliverance Temple. His mother, Mamie, was a devout Christian and raised him under the Pentecostal faith.
Kinte was a laborer of many jobs. He loved life, his children, his siblings, and nieces and nephews. It was not uncommon for him to randomly call or write a heartfelt letter to a loved one, to share the lessons of his world or to express his genuine affection for them.
In addition to his parents, his younger brother, Demetrius Kenyon Singleton, preceded him in death.
Many loved ones remain to celebrate his life and legacy, including four loving sons and one daughter: Alekaniz Coleman, Alekanaria Coleman, Jabez Singleton, Keyshawn Barnes & Nathaniel Hill; sisters, Angelica Gladney, Nicole Sanders, Annette Harris, Bridgette Smith, Jacqueline (Isaih) Smith, Kim (Henry) Graham; brothers, Eugene Gladney, Arnold Harris, Demetrius (Charles) Matthews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
We will honor his life & legacy on Saturday, November 26th at First Missionary Baptist Church, 103 Church Street in Thomasville, NC.
