Mario Enrique Rodriguez, age 71, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. He was born December 7, 1949, in Harlingen to Winniberto and Minerva Rodriguez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Richard and Steven Rodriguez.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his loving children, Michael, Anthony, Eric, and Sandy; siblings, Yolanda, Linda, Lisa, Annette, and Daniel; 10 grandchildren; former spouse, Alma Palacios; and countless nephews and nieces.
Mario proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a drill sergeant and was awarded a Silver Star Medal, the third highest medal decoration given to a soldier for valor against the enemy. Mario also received the Purple Heart and many other bars and medals.
