Marilyn Viola Greene, 83, of New Oxford, PA, died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home. Born March 19, 1933 in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow E. and Viola P. (Fellenbaum) Tangert, Sr. She was the wife of Fred Greene, to whom she was married for 43 years.
Marilyn was a devoted wife and homemaker. She enjoyed listening to piano music, dancing, watching birds, and crocheting. She had a gift for art and loved to paint.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Sally Hughes and husband Paul of Warrenton, VA; step-sons, Fred Greene II and wife Mary of Elkhart, IN, and Kenneth Greene and wife Patty of Uniontown, PA; sister-in-law, Glenna Lambert of Keysville, MD; granddaughter, Ashley Carreiro of Warrenton, VA; great-granddaughter, Bailey Hogan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor E. Geesey; her brother, Woodrow E. Tangert, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Thomas Lambert.
