KOK, Marilyn – Passed suddenly on September 17th, with her daughter at her side. “Micki” had just turned 84. Survived by her devoted daughter Patti Zelechowski and son-in-law Don Zelechowski; loving grandchildren Cassie Engle, Misha McFarland, Shantell Zelechowski, and Jasmine Zelechowski; as well as beloved great-grandchild Evelyn Engle. Predeceased by her husband Gerald (“Gerry”) Walter Kok in September of 2002.

Micki was born in Michigan in 1935. She was the second child of five, with two brothers and two sisters. After marrying Gerry Kok, a military man, and giving birth to daughter Patti, the small family spent many years traveling the globe with the US army. After Gerry retired, the family settled down in Scottsdale, Arizona, where they grew roots and built many strong friendships in the Valley. Micki was always proud that she had worked hard her whole life. After retiring, Micki volunteered at the Little Red School House as a docent. She will always be remembered for her sharp wit, infectious humor, and loving soul. She always lent a kind ear, gave freely of her time, and supported her loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. The world is a darker place without her light.
