Marilyn Joyce Buckley McClarren, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2016 after a battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Charles William McClarren. Joyce was born in Point Reyes, California, on September 15, 1936. She met Charles, an Air Force fighter pilot, in Trieste, Italy, and they were married on August 5, 1956 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together they raised four children while Charles served in the military. Their postings took them to multiple assignments within the United States and overseas in Japan, Germany, and England. Joyce was a devoted military spouse, hostess, and friend to everyone she met. Upon retirement, Joyce and Charles eventually moved to Albuquerque where they made their home for over 30 years. Joyce was an avid traveler. She enjoyed reading, decorating, antiquing, dining out and going to the beach. She loved her many longtime friends she made during her travels, some of whom she has remained friends with for decades.

Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Jean Cross. She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Bradford McClarren and wife, Leslie, of Jupiter, FL, Shaun McClarren and wife, Marcia, of Rio Rancho, NM; daughters, Davis McClarren of Lincoln, RI, and Tracey McClarren Beck and husband, David Beck, of Exeter, RI; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ian) Gronewold, Patricia (Michael) Christensen, Monroe McClarren, Chandler Hodder, Emily Beck, and Morgan Beck; 5 great-grandchildren; niece, Andrea Cross; and nephews, Scott (Judy) Cross and Jeffrey Cross.
