Marilyn J. Valkema, age 85, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Marilyn was born May 28, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Havens) Noble. On February 21, 1964, she was united in marriage to H. Roy Valkema. For many years she helped Roy run the family business Tri City & Commercial Waste Disposal.
Marilyn was a longtime member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church, and Everglades Community Church in Florida. The most important part of Marilyn’s life was her family. Surviving are her husband Roy Valkema; children Mark (Susan) Nap, Carol (Randy) VanDyke, Henry (Colleen) Valkema; grandchildren Gregory (Maddison) Nap, Angela (Christopher) Reiter, Mellisa (Damien) Kakarian, Brad (Olivia) VanDyke, Henry Valkema, Heath Valkema, Anna Valkema; great-grandchildren Drew and Jackson Reiter, Hunter Nap, Cope Palmer, Damien and Wyatt Kakarian; brother Norman Noble; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert Noble.
