Marilyn Darlene Campbell, 74, passed away August 16, 2013, at her home following an extended illness. Darlene was born in Dodge City, KS on November 20, 1938 to Kenneth M. and Juanita (Hardaway) Hayes. She was raised on her parents’ farm in Meade, Kansas. Following her graduation from Meade High School in 1956, she attended Beauty School in Wichita, KS and obtained her cosmetology license. Darlene lived the past 30 years in Canon City, Colorado and was the owner of Derby Liquor and the Picc-a-deli Station Restaurant. She was an avid gardener, and exceptional cook, a talented seamstress, and had a keen eye for artistic design. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. Darlene is survived by her mother, Juanita Hayes; brother, Bill Hayes; her children, Kim (Gordon) Baker, Christy Sutton, Jamie (Neil) Harwell, and James (Evelyn) Campbell; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her companion, Jack Sabatino. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; and brother, Arlen Hayes.
