Marilyn D. Reynolds, 80, of Jacksonville, IL, died Dec. 24, 2021, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 20, 1941, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Paul and Lucille Day DeFrates. She married James M. Reynolds on August 5, 1962, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2012.
She is survived by two children, Penny R. Decker and Jim Reynolds, both of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Erica (Kyle) Greenwood of Florida, Lauren (Steven) McGinnis of Champaign and Quentin Reynolds of Winchester; one brother Kenneth DeFrates of Jacksonville (deceased wife Ann); and special friend and caregiver, Mary Turner. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dale W. DeFrates (deceased wife Jeanette).
Mrs. Reynolds was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked in bookkeeping and customer service at the Farmers State Bank and Trust Company in Jacksonville since April of 1982, retiring in 2019. She was a long-time member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville and regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time on her screened-in back porch.
