Marilyn S. Robinson, 79, of Hoschton, GA, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on Monday, February 10, 2020, surrounded by her closest family members after a year-long battle with cancer.

Marilyn was born in Princeton, IN, on October 3, 1940.

She graduated from Princeton High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Oakland City University, and received her master’s degree from Purdue University. Marilyn married her loving husband, Darell, of 55 years on August 9, 1964.

Two of Marilyn’s passions revolved around education and childhood literacy which defined much of her professional career. After graduating from college, she taught language arts at multiple high schools. Following a break to raise her son, Steven, she resumed her career at the Fayette County Public Library where she served as the Director of Children’s Services for 28 years. She retired from this role in 2012. Marilyn then spent the next several years volunteering in the Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) organization where her legacy of helping children continued.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Darell, son Steven, daughter-in-law Stacy, and granddaughter Lillian. She loved and touched all of these people deeply.

A resident of Fayette County, IN, for 48 years, Marilyn and Darell moved to Georgia in 2018 to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Prior to moving to Georgia, she attended Bentonville Christian Church.
