Marilyn passed away Friday afternoon, October 21, 2016 at Fulton Manor, Grand Rapids, where she had resided for the past 9 years. She was born on February 20, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the oldest of seven children to Peter and Anna (Agema) Smit.

She was employed by Ryan, Jamieson & Hubbell attorneys for 18 years until her retirement. During retirement, she worked for Douglas and Son as an interior decorator for 4 years. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

On September 14, 1996, she was married to David Householder, who survives. Also surviving are her son: Steven Triesenberg; daughter-in-law: Mary Triesenberg; granddaughter: Stephanie Triesenberg; brother: Roger Smit; three sisters: Phyllis (Richard) Ciganek, Beth (Brian) Doxtator and Cynthia (Stephen) Gero and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son: Daniel Bommersbach; sister: Karen Boyd and brother: Robert Smit.
